Event Details

TICKET IS FOR BOTH DAYS (18TH & 19TH JUNE)

18th – 10am-5pm

19th – 9am-4pm

This workshop is designed to introduce all 3 phases of IGP using reward based methods.

Corinne will show the foundations that will help with training of exercises. The early stages of tracking & the progression will be explained and each dog/handler will  be able to try this out.

The workshop will cover Reward/Location Specific Markers and Corinne will explain their usefulness in improving  & maintaining  exercises (including  tracking and protection) Corinne will explain how some of the obedience exercises differ slightly from other sports & show how to achieve some of these differences .. eg., forward sit Instead of backward sit.

Corinne has trained all the elements of the protection phase without a helper since starting the sport, almost 20 years.  She understands the usefulness of training this section of the sport with the dog being in low arousal before the helper is introduced.
Attendees will learn how to teach their dog some specific exercises such as :- Heelwork, Send Away, Back Transport, Side Transport etc., and also  more general Self Control, relationship building, how to work through frustration, increasing power and drive.

Please Note – Bites & Grip development (with a helper)  will not be available on this workshop.

Corinne has a FB group specifically for those who train IGP with her.  This has videos and information explaining the sport in detail  and shows some of the training that can be done.  All those on the Workshop will be added to the group prior to the dates to give some understanding of the sport
