An independent series of shows to encourage young dogs who are almost ready for competition

These shows are designed to enable dogs and handlers to reinforce criteria in the ring, whilst also having the competitive atmosphere of a show.

You can run competitively, or run NFC. You can even run competitively holding a toy, using stride regs/mats, all to set your dog up to succeed!

Also ideal for seasoned dogs needing some ring exposure for a re-train, or returning post injury. You may run 1 height lower than normal if you wish.

Join us for an immersive four-hour workshop, designed specifically for beginners but open to all experience levels.

This session offers a unique, low-pressure environment where only one dog works at a time, making it perfect for dogs who may be uncomfortable around others. Guided by Calum and featuring his wife Vicky as the experienced “body”, participants will progress from foundational theory to fun, practical searches.

Whether you are looking to try something new or build confidence with your dog outdoors, this workshop aims to help you catch the “search bug” and lay the groundwork for future adventures together.

About Calum

Calum McConnell is a dedicated dog training instructor with over fifteen years of experience, specialising in scent-based activities and outdoor search work. His passion for search and rescue was ignited by mentorship under a former Lake District mountain rescue training officer, where he learned to scale indoor scent concepts to the grander challenge of locating human scent across vast terrains. Calum loves sharing these skills with clients, helping them and their dogs experience the thrill and teamwork of real-world search scenarios.
